Family Support
Here at Empowerment Plus our Family Support Program is adapted specifically to the needs of the family in question. Empowerment Plus will work with families, young people, and foster carers.
How will we help:
- Focusing on the strengths of the family
- Helping promote clear communication
- Providing information and linking families to local services that offer guidance and support on issues that may be arising (i.e. Substance misuse, challenging behaviours, etc.)
- Offer methods of problem solving
- Providing a break or time out for the young person or parent
- Modelling behaviours and demonstrating useful tips (i.e. reward charts, encouragement, positive reinforcement)
- Helping parents to set boundaries and supporting the children to follow family rules
- Supporting parents/carers to develop & maintain appropriate household routines
